Dr. Bass and company are wonderful!!! I had the privilege of adopting two very unique kitties (brothers) three years ago. They have always had a few issues with walking and agility, but it wasn't until recently that we noticed one of them was having even more trouble than usual getting around. I brought him into see Dr. Bass based off a recommendation from a friend. Dr. Bass was able to tell me more our cats' condition than any of the other vets we had visited over the last three years. He was also willing to reach out to other people in the field to find answers to be able to better treat our cats.

Newport Pet Clinic was clean and efficient and the staff extremely welcoming and personable. I have three cats and have had to deal with a number of vets over the years...this place is hands down the best I've found yet.

This may sound strange but it is nice to find a vet that actually likes pets. Dr. Bass remembers little details about each of my dogs. His staff is friendly and goes out of there way to help you. Everyone is knowledgeable and will answer just about every question that I have with my dogs. This place is not cold and sterile like some vets offices that I have been too. My dogs actually like coming in! I am grateful that this place is close to me and provides a loving and warm environment for my pets' health care.

I have been a customer at Newport Pet Clinic for over 2 years. My prior Vet retired and I got a new puppy. Thankfully  I was referred to Newport Pet Clinic by my brother and sister-in-law. Dr. Bass diagnoised my puppy with elbow dysplasia and my sweet puppy had two surgeries, one at seven months and another at 9 months. Dr. Bass was not the surgeon, he referred me to a specialists, but he hand carried the lab and X-ray results to the surgeon for the consultation.  He cared for me and my puppy even though we weren't his patient.  Dr. Bass even called me at home to check up after surgery. He helped me through the difficult  time of surgery.  My puppy is now 2 1/2 and he is doing great. I would not hesitate to refer anyone that has a loved pet to Newport Pet Clinic. Dr. Bass and the staff at Newport Pet Clinic are the greatest!

Dr. Bass and the staff at Newport Pet Clinic are phenomenal. Dr. Bass has cared for our dogs since 1995. The compassion and care that our dogs have received over the years has been reassuring to our family.

Dr. Bass is like a country doctor who knows all of his patients and remembers the little details that mean a lot. When Bailey broke her jaw and was hospitalized, the surgeon let us know that Dr. Bass stopped in to check on her after surgery. We've always known how wonderful Dr. Bass is, but he continues to impress us in new ways.

We always recommend Dr. Bass and the staff at Newport Pet Clinic to anyone who needs a great veterinarian.

We moved from another local vet because they were expensive and missed a couple of things they should have caught. Dr. Bass is a huge upgrade and he charges less!! This guy loves being a vet. Its his calling and hes very good at it. He is thorough, thoughtful and caring. He is totally into his work. Our pets used to shudder when we brought them to our last vet. Now our cat purrs and our dog doesn't shake much at all. Lots of love and knowlege with this first-class professional. It would be very hard to find a better vet. Staff is so friendly you dont want to leave.?

Newport Pet Clinic (more specifically Dr. Bass) get five stars from my husband, me, and most importantly our dogs!  First off their prices are on par with other veterinary clinics in the area but the service, care, and attention to you and your pets is far beyond any other vet I have ever been to throughout a lifetime of owning pets.

At an appointment the receptionists (always the same ones) will have an amiable chat with you both before and after, give your dog plenty of delicious morsels that fit in their diet, and offer you plenty of tips and bits of friendly advice about dog training and ownership. You never have to wait long though- this is a small, private practice with only two vet rooms. Once you go in it's never a long wait for the Pet Nurse and then Dr. Bass.....

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Arthur Bass. From the moment he walks in the room he treats you like an equal- always explaining every step to you, never pressuring you, explaining charges, etc. More importantly he gets to know your dog, gets them comfortable and treats them with the utmost in loving care. At each appointment (for one dog) he will spend almost an hour with you. He checks everything gently and thoroughly and looks into your dog's eyes like he's communicating with them- it's like he's Dr. Doolittle!

I realize that I'm expounding here but Dr. Bass is the best of the best. You get personalized attention that is hard to find these days in human medical practice let alone veterinary practice. A few times we've had to take our dogs to a different vet and the experience was completely different. Long waits, scared dogs, hurried vet techs, rude vets who talk down to you and don't reveal charges and add on tons of unnecessary treatments to up the bill. You and your furry best friend don't need to put up with that sort of treatment. Go to Dr. Bass at Newport Pet Clinic because there is a better way.

Your pooch will thank you.

Oh and cats are welcome too- I've seen quite a few of them there. It's just that we only have dogs these days.

 I cannot say enough about Dr. Art Bass & Staff at the Newport Pet Clinic!I first met Dr. Bass about 27 years ago at his Clinic in Orange.He truly has a love for animals that goes above & beyond.I was so sad when Dr. Bass left that clinic to pursue another venture.You can imagine how delighted I was to find him back in practice less that a mile from my home!Believe it or not,he did not remember me but did remember our dear first pet.Dr.Bass is someone I would highly recommend for his service.Clinic is always immaculate.

This Veterinarian ( Dr. Bass) truly is as good as they get. When my german shepherd ( I adopted her from http://GSROC.org the german shepherd rescue organization) developed pneumonia, Dr. Bass saved her.
I called their office and they told me to bring her in immediately. They would make room for her in their schedule. I had never been to this vet before. They proceeded with the tests to confirm the problem and even did more tests to doubly confirm this. And they did this without charging me the extra costs of those tests. My shepherd is now healthy and doing great. Dr. Bass is her vet for life.

I was looking for a vet for my new dog. I searched the internet and ask for recommendations from friends. I decided to take my german shepherd to Dr. Bass because she had been not feeling well. When I called and explained my problem Theresa immediately made room in their very busy schedule to see her that same day. Dr. Bass was thorough and gentle with her throughout the exam. He actually did more than he charged me for. My dog, who is a bit cautious around strangers, felt totally at ease with him.
Thank you all so much for everything. You are my dog's vet from now on.

I was amazed to fing a vet like this in todays World. He was amazing with my 5 week old french bulldog. My puppy had a severe blockage and was teetering on death. I explained that I didnt have the funds to do alot of the tests etc. He spent so much time with my puppy and when I couldnt afford the X-rays, he did them anyway, he said he did it in the interest of medicine ( didnt charge ). It was decided that the puppy would need a major surgery and I made the decsision to put the puppy down. I was shocked when he stated that he didnt go into the proffesion to euthenize viable puppies, and offered to take the puppy and do what he could to save him, and if he lived, it would become a memeber of his family . I was so relieved and grateful. A true man of medicine !!!! Plus, his staff is very friendly and proffesional. The office is the cleanest Vet's office that I have ever seen. A+ A+

I think Dr. Bass is one of the best Vets out there! He always take his time to really understand the problem my dogs are having. He went to lenghts to find out why my dog was having intestinal problems. We change his food and the problem was solved. All other Vets just gave me medication and charged me for a bunch of test and my dog suffered for a year before I saw Dr. Bass. I recommend him for sure!!!! You'll be glade you for you pet to find someone like him.

I would follow them to the END OF THE WORLD!!!
I have lived in Irvine for approx 10 yrs. When I first moved here I had 2 Labradors and checked the local veterinarian offices. My first visit was at a clinic in Tustin and I had the BEST experience with the doctor who looked at my pets (Dr. Arthur Bass). The next time I went to the clinic I heard Dr. Bass had moved to a different location and I was VERY disappointed. My dogs were 5 at the time, and I had seen well over 8 different doctors and NONE compared to Dr. Bass!! I stayed at the clinic and became friends with the manager who ended up leaving and opening her own clinic. When she told me the doctor she was partnering up with at the new clinic was Dr. Art Bass I was ELATED!! I have been a client of Newport Pet Clinic since they very first opened their doors!!! I carry their business cards with me to hand out to any and everyone I meet!! Every single person I have sent to Newport Pet Clinic have ALL contacted me and told me that I am RIGHT!! They are without a DOUBT the best veterinarian clinic in Orange County....if not in ALL of Southern California!! I know people from over 40 miles away who have their pets taken care of by Newport Pet Clinic! They are knowledgable, compassionate, friendly, honest and absolute animal LOVERS!! You couldn't ask for anything more than those qualities in a doctor for your beloved pet. Thorough and Caring

I've used Newport Pet Clinic for about 5 years through 2007 for both my dog and cat. They've fulfilled special requests including offering to pick up and drop off my dog. The doctor knows his stuff and explains options and procedures well. Although I've now moved out of state, I would otherwise continue being a customer.
